Day 10

There's a saying that goes: "God never gives us more than we can handle". This simply is not true. We have accepted this notion and bought in to an ideology that we are meant to suffer and to struggle. When we struggle, we are robbed of joy. We become grouchy and irritable especially when we are under the pressure of deadlines and monumental tasks.

Life is not meant to be one perpetual problem-seeking and solving venture. We may just be handling our problems all the wrong way.

When life's mounting pressures are too heavy for us to stand, Perhaps we should realize it's the best time to kneel.

We started this devotional with the statement: "God never gives us more than we can handle" It's simply not true because our God is a good and loving God. He's a God of abundance.

God is not intimidated by our circumstances or our struggles. He doesn't flinch at our hard questions and petitions.

God allows more than we can handle, but...

"God never gives us more than we are willing to surrender to Him, because doing so brings Him glory".

There is a sign in my office that reads: "Good morning my beloved child, this God, I will be handling all of your problems today, and...No I don't need your help".

How do you handle stress when it comes your way? Do you ask for help? Is your pride an issue?

Today ask God to reveal to you the places in your heart that pride has shut Him out and prevented you from seeking help, then ask Him into that "place" to take charge and control over all of the circumstances that are preventing you from moving ahead. Meditate and reflect on what God reveals to you today and reflect on other areas in your life that you need to turn control over to God.

Bottom line is this:

Apart from Him we can do nothing. Submit to Him in all that you do because God's got this and God's got you so let go and let God handle it all.

Read: John 15:5;  1 Peter 5:6-11

Lord,

I confess my sins and failures to you and I am very sorry for having sinned against You.  Give me the strength to seek and accept Your forgiveness.

Lord Jesus, you poured yourself out completely and died for me that I would have eternal life and I claim that wonderful and indescribable gift of salvation.

Create a clean heart in me and renew me in mind, body and spirit.

I consecrate myself to you Lord and ask that you use me according to your holy will.

I pray in Jesus name.

Amen
