Lenten Reflections

Day 19

Forty days of nothing? Not hardly. Even though Jesus fasted for forty days, He clearly came out stronger than ever based on the events following it.

Emerging from the wildreness, Jesus chose 12 unlikely and vastly different personalities along with others and started  to reach, teach, heal and love humanity in a way never experienced.

Ask yourself this: Is your praying and fasting strengthening you or do you feel like you're floundering? Maybe you're not experiencing the outcome that you expected.

Today, God will lead you into and through the same kind of difficult preparation, building in you a power and purpose that Jesus gained from His time of prayer and fasting in the wilderness. Be strong, be bold, be courageous, after all you were not given a timid spirit or one of fear. Bold prayers can equal bold outcomes, that's how the Spirit works.

Prayer of consecration

Lord,

I confess my sins and failures to you and I am very sorry for having sinned against You.  Give me the strength to seek and accept Your grace and forgiveness.

Lord Jesus, you poured yourself out completely and died for me so that I would have eternal life. I claim that wonderful and indescribable gift of salvation.

Create a pure heart in me, refresh my spirit and renew my mind and body.

I consecrate myself to you Lord and ask that you use me according to your holy will.

I pray in Jesus name.

Amen
