You are now half way through your journey and the Lord has revealed much to you as you've been attentive. But there may exist a lingering doubt in your heart. You may feel somewhat apprehensive or even a little ashamed to admit that you have not surrendered yourself fully to the Lord's will. Maybe you're more than a little afraid of giving Him full control of your life.
One of my all time favorite movies is in the Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. A pivotal moment is where Indiana Jones is confronted with a spiritual moment where his brains, brawn and quick reflexes only got him so far, now he was being challenged to believe; a true leap of faith moment.
These "leap" moments happen in our lives for a powerful reason, to challenge what we know and believe, what we can do and what we can't.
Our leap is a complete surrender to God, a God who is loving, rich in mercy and slow to anger.... We're told this and we all know this, but we still resist; afraid to yield control of our lives to what and who we cannot see.
Today ask God to give you the strength to see the places in your heart that prevent you from fully relying on and trusting God for all things and in all circumstances. Oh how sweet it will be to "let go and let God".
Prayer of consecration
Lord,
I confess my sins and failures to you and I am very sorry for having sinned against You. Give me the strength to seek and accept Your grace and forgiveness.
Lord Jesus, you poured yourself out completely and died for me so that I would have eternal life. I claim that wonderful and indescribable gift of salvation.
Create a pure heart in me, refresh my spirit and renew my mind and body.
I consecrate myself to you Lord and ask that you use me according to your holy will.
I pray in Jesus name.
Amen
