If prayer is all we had, then Prayer is all we need
At sundown many would observe the beginning of Passover. Jesus and his disciples would celebrate it with the communal meal in memory of the Jews fleeing from Egypt.
It would also be the last time that Jesus would eat this meal with his disciples before going with them out to the Garden of Gethsemane.
On that night Jesus would face a time of bitter agony as He prayed alone to the Father knowing and expecting his betrayal.
In the most difficult times when nothing can be done, We have only one thing left to do: fall on our knees and pray, surrendering our will and our circumstances to the Holy Will of God.
In our anguish we can surrender to our grief, be consumed by fear and try to fight the bitter temptation to quit. or, we can pray and seek our Loving Father's plan for the ultimate good of our lives.
Jesus understands this because near the end of his last night on earth he spent that time in prayer with the Father.
When we are overrun by life's despirate moments where best to be? On our knees in prayer.

Prayer of consecration
Lord,
I confess my sins and failures to you and I am very sorry for having sinned against You. Give me the strength to seek and accept Your grace and forgiveness.
Lord Jesus, you poured yourself out completely and died for me so that I would have eternal life. I claim that wonderful and indescribable gift of salvation.
Create a pure heart in me, refresh my spirit and renew my mind and body.
I consecrate myself to you Lord and ask that you use me according to your holy will.
I pray in Jesus name.
Amen
