Lenten Devotions

Day 38

What has changed?

In the scripture we see that many people wondered if their fasting and prayer changed anything. They even wondered if they should continue with the practice. Should they continue to keep the festivals of both fasts and feasts? Weren't both designed by God to draw a people closer to himself?

If drawing closer to God is the desire in your life everyday, then both fasting and prayer must be a part of your every day routine. Caution, these are not to be taken lightly becuase both are still holy to the Lord.

They're for His glory and not just a hunger strike to get what you want.

As you continue to seek His face ask yourself: "What has changed in you during this time?"

What revelations have you been shown, what transformation has been taking place during this time? Have you experienced any? Anything at all?

Today, may God reveal to you what He has changed in you; after all a willing heart can do much.

Have you treated others differently in response to where is God calling you to, and to what is he calling you to do?

To make a change, one must be willing to take a chance.

Prayer of consecration

Lord,

I confess my sins and failures to you and I am very sorry for having sinned against You.  Give me the strength to seek and accept Your grace and forgiveness.

Lord Jesus, you poured yourself out completely and died for me so that I would have eternal life. I claim that wonderful and indescribable gift of salvation.

Create a pure heart in me, refresh my spirit and renew my mind and body.

I consecrate myself to you Lord and ask that you use me according to your holy will.

I pray in Jesus name.

Amen
