Benediction & Closing
Peace today seems to be so incredibly illusive. The world seems to be on the brink of chaos. Its impossible to be calm let alone find peace. But that's exactly the problem, we're looking for the world to usher peace, or more specifically for humanity to be at peace.
In a world of fallen and broken people, we are incapable of producing peace. Only God can bring peace. We can live in peace, we can pass the peace, we can pray for peace, we can sue for peace, but peace does not originate with mankind. The origin of peace is God.
Jesus said to his disciples who were confused and troubled by His ominus words on the night he was betrayed: "Peace. Peace be with you. I leave you peace and my peace I give you. I do not give as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled". He said I do not give as the world does, because the world gives trouble, not peace.
What is it today that is keeping you from seeking and abiding in the Peace of Christ Jesus? There is somethiing we can do for that unsettling of your heart and spirit. Turn to Christ, invite him into your heart and He will bring peace to you this day. It is in giving that we receive. Peace be with you always.
